It is opener KL Rahul's home ground. Skipper Virat Kohli, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and fast bowler Umesh Yadav, as Royal Challengers Bangalore players, are equally familiar with its peculiarities. Rohit Sharma perhaps has a fondness for the ground for it was here that he made his maiden ODI double hundred. The Men in Blue therefore would be looking forward to the second of the two-match T20I series against Australia with some relish. They have won the previous two T20I matches at this venue and will be looking to square the series after losing a low-scoring encounter in Visakhapatnam on Sunday off the last ball. Given that only three batsmen - Rahul (50), Kohli (24) and MS Dhoni (29) - accounted for 103 off the 126 runs India scored in Visakhapatnam, the focus will be on improving performances with the bat. Rahul and Rishabh Pant, who made three before he ran himself out, will face even more scrutiny since they are both looking to seal a World Cup berth. Rahul, who regained his touch during the India 'A' four-day tour games against England Lions earlier this month, where he notched scores of 89 and 81, built on his confidence with the 36-ball-50 on Sunday night. The opener, who was preferred over Shikhar Dhawan, will be aware that he is running out of time to present his case with only six matches (five ODIs after the T20I) to go. Pant, who is eyeing his place in the squad as a middle-order or wicketkeeper-batsman, faces a similar predicament. As far the batting department is concerned, India had given Shikhar Dhawan a rest in the first outing and it remains to be seen whether he will return to the fold in Bangalore especially with the series on the line. Rishabh Pant will be itching to perform after getting out cheaply on Sunday, and so will be Dinesh Karthik who has a point to prove after being left out of the ODI series that follows the T20s. All eyes will be on Mahendra Singh Dhoni too whose strike-rate once again was the talking point after the first T20I where he scored only 26 runs in 37 balls. India had a ridiculously long tail in Visakhapatnam with Umesh Yadav coming in as early as No.8. The hosts might look to bring in all-rounder Vijay Shankar to beef-up the batting department. On the bowling front, India seem a settled unit with Jasprit Bumrah leading the way. Debutant Mayank Markande was impressive though he did not pick a wicket so was Krunal Pandya who had impressive returns of 1/17 from four overs. The only change India might look at is replacing Umesh with Siddharth Kaul. The Chinnaswamy pitch generally favours the batsmen and the two have their task cut out, but there are likely to be changes elsewhere. Kohli, who went spin-heavy in Visakhapatnam, could beef up the batting order. Having escaped with a win in the first match, Australia will be eager to wrap up the series and claim their first limited overs win in a year. That said, Australia will come into the contest high on confidence from their win in Vizag. However, skipper Aaron Finch will look to make a statement with his personal form. The 32-year-old has had a poor run in T20 internationals in recent times. In the previous 10 matches in the format, Finch has crossed the double-digit mark just thrice and has three ducks as well. Much like the home side, the Australians too will hope for their batsmen to put good numbers on the board, since they almost made a mess chasing 126 and needed Pat Cummins to keep his cool and see the team through off the last ball. India do not have the best of T20I records in Bangalore. They have won three and lost two T20Is at the M Chinnaswamy stadium though they will take heart from the fact that the two wins have come in their last two fixtures at the venue. The conditions in Bangalore are expected to be partly cloudy during the game, but there is no threat of rain. Given the nature of the surface, the captain who wins the toss would be tempted to bat.
